Durban Dew is a robust, fast-growing, sativa-dominant hybrid with a relatively fast flowering time and strong branches that can deliver heavy harvests

Durban Dew is great for outdoor and greenhouse growing, but she can also be grown indoors. She is a hardy cannabis plant that can take a beating. She is a fast-growing, sativa-dominant strain that develops many strong side branches and is capable of producing high yields.

If you grow her naturally, she can get a nice Christmas tree structure. It is of course ideal for growing outdoors, as all branches and buds get enough (sun) light this way. With sufficient pre-growth, it can easily reach a height of 2.5-4 m.

For indoor growing, its vigorous growth and narrow leaves make it ideal for growing in a SOG or SCROG. For a sativa, this strain flowers quickly and is ready for harvest after an average flowering time of about 8-9 weeks. At the end of the flowering period, the buds are completely covered with trichomes.

The flowering time of Durban Dew

Durban Dew delivers big XL yields in a variety of conditions, making her the perfect choice for the discerning outdoor grower. Her stable and resilient parent genetics also make her a good choice for novice growers. She has an average flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks. This is true from the moment she is set indoors on 12/12.

Out in the northern hemisphere, our Durban Dew is ripe as early as September or October, depending on what latitude you live at. It blooms fairly quickly as the days get shorter. Outdoors, the average plant grows about 2-3 feet tall.

But with a little pre-growth, it can even reach over 4 feet tall. This is a plant of epic proportions. Its slender, thin leaves allow light to pass through from top to bottom, providing even higher yields.

The yield of Durban Dew

Durban Dew is a photoperiod cannabis strain that comes as feminized seeds and can reward anyone with a powerful yield. Her plant and flower structure makes for robust, large flowers that can carry a lot of weight.

If you grow her in a SCROG or increase her width by topping/fimming, you will get a bushy plant that produces a lot of buds. The average yield when grown indoors is between 450-550 g/m2. Outdoors and in greenhouses, truly gigantic yields can be achieved. Plants yielding around 500-1000 g are the rule rather than the exception. For experienced growers, this is a record-breaking strain!

It can be grown both in pots and in the ground. Note that it prefers a large, aerated container to a small plastic pot. And for the best and tastiest results, we recommend growing it completely organic.

Tips from our experts

Durban Dew is a strong multi-talent. In fact, nothing is too crazy for her. Grow her preferably outside in the ground, in a cannabis pot, in a greenhouse, or as a guerrilla plant in the woods. She is a strain that responds well to bending, cutting and supercropping.

If you want to increase her yield, these techniques are recommended to get even thicker branches and flowers. If you want to limit its height a bit, it is recommended to top or FIM this variety.

This will make it even wider and more lush. If the vegetative period is long, this procedure can be repeated several times. Towards the end of the flowering period, we always recommend checking it for bud rot and mold when growing outdoors.

Although it is relatively hardy, it can still be susceptible to a number of small spots during long periods of bad weather. If you get there early enough, this will never be a serious problem. Therefore, remove dead foliage in a timely manner and provide shelter if needed. It is therefore advisable to check the plants when the harvest is approaching.
