A sweet treat... Apricot Candy is a California-inspired strain built on the genetics of a classic high-yielding Paradise sativa. The Paradise breeding team focused on adding an extra dimension to the high THC content and flavor intensity of traditional Cali grass strains, the resin content was further increased and yield potential was also improved. The unique flavor profile of Apricot Candy is one for connoisseurs, this extremely potent cannabis strain is as sticky as a sweet gourmet dessert.
Lineage
Apricot Candy combines genetic Paradise Seeds heritage with that of a modern legend. From the Paradise side comes the mighty (and multiple award-winning) Dutch Dragon, which carries South African and Dutch genes in its sativa heart. The second component is Thin Mint, a potent member of the Cookie Family, which is why she has an especially vibrant terpene profile. The result is an inherently stable and uniform plant that comes with that extra something that gives growers and consumers maximum wow factor.
Smell and taste
You want your mouth to water? Apricot Candy is a lush flavor package that leaves a lasting impression on cannasseurs, who love her unique taste and the silky smoothness of her flavor texture. Her terpene profile is dominated by caryophyllene, which gives her charismatic flavor an extra kick! In the grow room, notes of apple, fresh fig and apricot unfold - sweet and fruity, like a freshly baked fruitcake. This sweetness is also represented on the palate, joined by hints of vanilla - "silky" is the attribute that best describes the super smooth flavor.
Cultivation
Difficulty: medium
Indoors: Apricot Candy's sativa content inevitably means that this plant likes to stretch, and this is a trait to keep in mind for those whose grow space is very limited in height, they need to keep the dragon in check and prevent the plants from getting out of hand. However, the genetic indica element also comes into play and shows through horizontal growth and plump puffy buds.
Outdoors: Outdoors they almost grow into trees... In Mediterranean climates, lots of heat and sun naturally fires up amazing vertical and horizontal growth. In northern regions, growth is not as vigorous, but you can still expect specimens that tower over your neighbor's fence.
Yield and appearance
As flowering progresses, the foliage develops bright red, purple and blue hues, which is an admirable feast for the eyes. The sativa-fueled growth results in a very solid branch structure, which is then covered with thick, heavily swollen buds that show a distinctly indica-influenced flower structure. This strain differs from many Cali strains in that its icy looking trichome trim is fed by a particularly strong resin production, the buds of this plant are covered in layers of trichomes reminiscent of a load of fresh snow.
Indoor yield: 550 g per m²
Outdoor yield: 1000 g per plant
Effect
Pleasure related: You don't have to wait long for Apricot Candy to take effect, as it kicks in almost instantly, providing an immediate energy boost. Inexperienced users should be warned of her THC content of at least 20%, connoisseurs on the other hand will appreciate the strongly uplifting sativa turn - strong but clear - it lasts for about half an hour before you gradually float over to a more relaxed state of mind and body on the wings of the dragon - typical California!
Medicinal: This is not a strain for inexperienced cannabis users who may not be able to handle their potency. However, the high caryophyllene content of its terpene profile provides increased binding to CB2 receptors in the body's endocannabinoid system, providing an anti-inflammatory effect.
